Animals in Distress (Torbay & Westcountry)

Registered charity number: 1105487
Animals in Distress is a local animal welfare charity that takes in, cares for and rehomes hundreds of cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs every year. Animals come to our Devon Rescue Centre for a variety of reasons, including bereavement, illness, breakdown of relationships, financial hardship, straying, cruelty, neglect or abandonment. We aim to never turn away an animal in distress, and it is our policy to give them the best possible care while they are waiting to be rehomed. Every effort is made to ensure that prospective owners find the right pet for them. Home checks are carried out, and all animals are checked by our veterinary surgeon. All cats and dogs are microchipped, vaccinated and neutered before rehoming. We rely almost entirely on our generous supporters in the local community and beyond, without whom we wouldn’t be able to provide this vital service.
