Let’s Be Blunt CIC

Let’s Be Blunt CIC is a survivor-led organisation preventing knife harm through safer kitchen knives, safe disposal, trauma-informed education, training and advocacy. Founded by Southport attack survivor Leanne Lucas, we bring together lived experience, evidence and frontline professionals to create practical solutions that build safer communities.

What our donation will help fund

The £5,000 award from Benefact Group will help Let’s Be Blunt CIC expand its knife harm prevention work across the UK. The funding will support the development and printing of educational resources, awareness materials and practical guidance promoting safer kitchen knives and safe disposal. It will also help us deliver more trauma-informed education and training for schools, professionals and communities, ensuring more people have access to evidence-informed prevention. Founded by Southport attack survivor Leanne Lucas, Let’s Be Blunt brings together lived experience, research and frontline expertise to create practical solutions that reduce risk before harm occurs. This funding will strengthen our ability to reach more families and organisations, build new partnerships and continue creating safer homes and communities through education, awareness and early intervention.

“As someone whose life has been forever changed by knife harm, I know the importance of prevention. This funding will help us reach more people with practical education, safer knife initiatives and awareness, ensuring our message continues to make a real difference. We’re incredibly grateful to Benefact Group for believing in our mission.”
