Registered charity number: 1069427
BCHC Charity is the official NHS charity for Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) NHS Foundation Trust, and exists to enhance patient care, improve their experience, and support BCHC staff to deliver top quality care by funding research, projects, and items that are not provided as part of core NHS funding.

What our donation will help fund

Your donation will be placed in our Sparkle Fund, which any BCHC service can apply to access. This means the donation will make the most impact, as it could cover literally anything to make a difference to BCHC! This could include any of our regular ongoing requests such as activities for patients, Christmas gifts for inpatients and children's services, bereavement support items, sensory equipment and toys for Learning Disability services, rehabilitation exercise equipment for inpatient centres, dementia therapy dolls, dogs, and cats, murals and other artworks at BCHC bases, toys for waiting rooms, and lots more! It could also support any new, ad hoc requests that we receive from BCHC services.

"We are so pleased and incredibly grateful to receive £5,000 from the Community Special Draw. Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) NHS Foundation Trust covers community NHS services across Birmingham and beyond, from birth to end of life, and our mission is to support that work to improve the patient experience, enhance the care they receive, and support staff to deliver that care. Over the last 10 years, we've funded so many projects to spread some sparkle across the city, such as installing adapted playground equipment at the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre so that children with prosthetic limbs can build up their confidence through play, providing thousands of winter wellbeing packs to help people keep well and warm at home, creating sensory spaces for Learning Disability services, and funding bereavement support initiatives such as memory boxes and hand casting for the families of those accessing palliative care. We’ve renovated garden areas, funded beautiful murals, entertained patients with music, magic and days out, and lots more! This money will be a huge help in us continuing our work to make a difference for our patients, service users, their families and carers, and BCHC staff. Thank you so much!"
