People Matters (West Yorkshire)

Registered charity number: 1170724
People Matters is a Leeds‑based charity supporting people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and people with other hidden disabilities to live independent, fulfilling lives.

What our donation will help fund

We facilitate two adult social groups, supporting 32 adults with disabilities and additional needs across 50 weeks of the year. These groups provide safe, structured social opportunities that reduce isolation, build confidence, and promote independence.

This money will ensure that monthly fees for current and future members remain affordable in our Adult Social Groups and do not need to increase.

This money will now safeguard our hardship fund, ensuring that individuals who are unable to afford fees/ activity costs can continue to access our services and we maintain an inclusive, accessible environment for all members, regardless of financial circumstance.

At People Matters, our mission is to ensure that every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to the support, advice, and opportunities they need to thrive. Through our work, we see first-hand the transformative impact that early intervention, practical support, and community connection can have on the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families, helping them build confidence, stability, and a positive future. This grant represents far more than financial support; it enables us to expand our reach, strengthen our services, and respond more effectively to the growing needs within our communities. It will allow us to support more individuals at critical moments in their lives and deliver meaningful, lasting change. We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our work and in the people we serve.
