Registered charity number: 20075927
Gort Cancer Support provides free, confidential emotional and practical support, including counselling for children, adolescents and adults, complementary therapies, manual lymph drainage and a volunteer driving service, to individuals and families affected by cancer, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.

What our donation will help fund

Our volunteer transport service is a vital lifeline for individuals travelling to oncology appointments, scans and cancer treatments. Demand for this support increased by 122% in 2025. Serving a largely rural area with extremely limited public transport, many of our clients have no alternative means of reaching essential hospital appointments without our help. For people already facing the physical, emotional and financial strain of cancer, dependable transport can be the difference between accessing treatment or missing it. These funds will be used directly to provide fuel vouchers for our volunteer drivers, ensuring this critical service remains available, reliable and responsive to everyone who depends on it.

At Gort Cancer Support, we provide free and compassionate support to people and families affected by a cancer diagnosis, helping them navigate one of the most challenging times of their lives. Our services reduce isolation, ease practical pressures and ensure no one has to face cancer alone. This grant will make a real and immediate difference by enabling us to sustain our vital volunteer transport service, ensuring that people in our rural community can continue to access life‑saving treatment with dignity, reliability and peace of mind.
