Dogs Walk This Way Rescue

Registered charity number: Exempt
We are Dogs Walk This Way Rescue, a not for profit registered CIC organisation dedicated to improving the lives of abandoned dogs. Our organisation is run by a team of volunteers local to Bagshot, Surrey and we have lots of fosterers in other UK locations.

What our donation will help fund

We are extremely grateful to have won this amount. Our vets bills monthly are always between £1,500-3,000.00 depending on what dogs we have had come through our doors. All dogs that come in to our care get seen by our vet and many need microchips, neutering, vaccinating and de flea and worming.

As well as this we have costs for trainers for our more difficult dogs, insurance costs, food, equipment and we have several dogs in long term foster where they cannot be re-homed but we cover all their costs.

The money will be spent on vets bills.

Having been in rescue 14 years now, I have never seen so many dogs here in the UK being surrendered and abandoned as I have today. We are receiving 5 plus calls a day where owners are needing to surrender their dogs through various reasons. We take weekly calls from different vets asking us to help where owners have taken dogs in for euthanasia and not for medical reasons so vets we work with refuse and call us to see if we can help, most of the time we do. We also work with dog wardens and pounds taking stray dogs. We are all volunteers and have jobs and families and we are under so much pressure currently. We are a small organisation but help any dog we can. We are not breed specific and have helped every dog imaginable even with severe behavioural issues. The money will take pressure of us as we have had many months of high vet’s bills so it means we can help more dogs.
