Acland Burghley School Trust

Registered charity number: 1002280
The ABS Trust is a registered charity advancing the education of pupils at Acland Burghley School by provision of facilities for the education at the school (not normally provided by the LA) and engagement in activities which support the school. The Trust raises money for the ambitious Hall for All project, which will see our unique Assembly Hall restored to an arts, heritage and community space.

What our donation will help fund

Acland Burghley school is a renowned and celebrated example of Brutalist architecture in the heart of our north London community. The Assembly Hall with its unique hexagonal design was, for many years, the jewel in the school’s crown. Uniquely designed to be a community and arts space for both students and the local community, it became known for showcasing excellence in drama, music and dance. Now, we’re embarking on a capital renovation project of the Assembly Hall, bringing back this very special place to the heart of our community – a Hall for All. Building works will commence this summer and alongside them we are delivering an array of community engagement activities to celebrate the 60 year anniversary of the school. The generous Movement for Good Award will help towards meeting our fundraising target for this ambitious and exciting project.

“This isn’t just about renovating a building. For our neighbours, safe, accessible spaces like this Hall can be a lifeline. The Hall for All will give young people, families and community groups a place to connect, learn and belong."
Nicholas John, Headteacher, Acland Burghley School Trust
