What our donation will help fund

We are incredibly grateful to Benefact Group for this generous £1,000 donation, which will directly support our work with the Dartmoor Hill Ponies. At Friends of the Dartmoor Hill Pony, we take ponies from a wild moorland environment and carefully introduce handling, training, and education to help secure their future.

This funding will contribute towards essential costs including feed and veterinary care, ensuring the ponies remain healthy and well as they transition from wild to handled. It also supports training, equipment, and the time needed to build confidence through gentle, consistent handling, including exposure to new environments and experiences such as our display team work.

The donation enables us to continue our education and outreach, helping people understand the importance of these rare ponies to the landscape of Dartmoor. By raising awareness, we can build long-term support for their conservation.

Ultimately, this funding helps secure a sustainable future for Dartmoor Hill Ponies, benefiting both the ponies themselves and the unique heritage and ecology they help maintain.

We are incredibly grateful to Benefact Group for supporting our work with the Dartmoor Hill Ponies. As a charity, we are dedicated to protecting these rare, semi-wild ponies while helping to secure their future through careful handling, training, and education. Our work not only benefits the ponies themselves, but also supports the unique landscape and heritage of Dartmoor that they have shaped for generations. This funding will make a real difference, helping us to cover essential costs such as feed and veterinary care, as well as continuing the training and development of young ponies. It allows us to give these ponies the best possible start as they transition from the moor into more secure futures, while also enabling us to engage and educate the public about their importance. Support like this is vital in ensuring that Dartmoor Hill Ponies continue to be part of the landscape for generations to come.
