Northern Ireland Rural Women’s Network (NIRWN)

Registered charity number: 105725
Northern Ireland Rural Women’s Network (NIRWN) was established in September 2006 ‘to promote and support rural women in rural Northern Ireland.'

We are absolutely delighted to have been selected for this grant, which will make a meaningful difference to the work of the Northern Ireland Rural Women’s Network. Our organisation exists to ensure that rural women across Northern Ireland are visible, influential and valued, and this support will help us continue to strengthen that mission. The funding will enable us to provide more opportunities for rural women to connect, build skills and take part in decision-making that affects their lives and communities. Through training, networking and policy engagement, we support women and local organisations to grow in confidence, share their experiences and ensure their voices are heard by policymakers. Grants like this are vital in helping us reach women in rural communities who may otherwise feel isolated or overlooked. We are incredibly grateful for this support and excited about the positive impact it will have in empowering more rural women to shape the future of their communities.

What our donation will help fund

A £2,000 donation would make a tangible difference to the work of the Northern Ireland Rural Women’s Network (NIRWN) in advancing our vision of an equitable society where rural women are visible, influential and valued. This support would enable us to deliver targeted workshops, training sessions and networking opportunities that build the confidence, leadership skills and capacity of rural women across Northern Ireland. It would help us provide practical advice, information and peer support to local women’s groups, strengthening the effectiveness of grassroots organisations working in rural communities.

The funding would also allow us to facilitate forums where rural women can share their experiences and contribute directly to policy discussions, ensuring their voices inform decision-making at local and regional levels. By supporting collaboration between women’s organisations and increasing opportunities for engagement, a £2,000 contribution would help amplify rural women’s voices, reduce isolation and empower more women to influence the future of their communities.
