The generous £1,000 donation from the Movement for Good Awards will help cover essential core costs that enable Swansea Asylum Seekers Support (SASS) to continue providing vital services to people seeking sanctuary in our community.
Core costs include the day-to-day running of our drop-in sessions, which welcome over 100 people in our community each week. These funds help us pay for venue hire, food, transport support, and the coordination that allows our volunteers and staff to run activities safely and consistently. While these costs are often less visible than direct project expenses, they are fundamental to keeping our services open and accessible.
This support makes a meaningful difference by ensuring we can maintain a safe, welcoming space where people seeking asylum can access practical help, social connection, and community support. The donation helps sustain the foundations of our work, enabling us to continue supporting people who may otherwise feel isolated or without access to essential resources.
