Cork Dog Action Welfare Group Limited

Registered charity number: 20068165
Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide new homes for unwanted, neglected and abused dogs and to give them a second chance at life.

What our donation will help fund

The donation received will be used to support the rescue in the ongoing care of the dogs, in particular our veterinary bills which are a constant and significant expense for the organisation. Our average monthly veterinary bills are often in excess of €12,000. Kennelling costs are also a considerable outlay of funds, with a monthly average cost of €5,000.

All our dogs are micro-chipped, vaccinated, treated for worms & fleas, in addition, many of the dogs that some into our care require moderate to extensive veterinary treatment e.g. as a result of road traffic accidents or extreme cases of neglect. Through our commitment to high levels of veterinary care, we ensure the dogs that come into our care are fully rehabilitated before being re-homed, thus ensuring the dogs’ welfare.

We operate a very strict neutering/spaying policy for all our dogs, which includes follow up and neutering of puppies when they are old enough for the procedure.

All potential new homes are fully checked to ensure the dog has the best chance of a successful and permanent adoption within its’ new home.

Without the existence of Cork DAWG, thousands of unwanted and neglected dogs in Cork & Munster would have little or no hope, many of them would not survive without our intervention. We believe we play a vital role in placing dogs with families where the lives of both humans and dogs are enriched by the presence of each other. We are so grateful to the Benefact Group for this very generous donation and to Rhona Luca from An Cat Dubh for your kind nomination. On behalf of all the dogs in our care, thank you so much!
