We are the area’s only mental-health crisis café, offering a safe, secure space for anyone in pre-crisis, crisis, or needing mental health support. All our services are free, with little or no waiting time, ensuring immediate, compassionate help when people need it most. We listen without judgment.

What our donation will help fund

We would purchase a laptop to enable us to use when making home visits and off site meeting such as Team Around the Family, (TAF). In court situations and at schools.

A dedicated laptop will significantly strengthen our ability to work in courts, schools, remote meetings (including Teams), and directly with families. Can we measure the impact in terms of lives touched.

We can estimate the impact based on how the laptop will be used, even if exact numbers vary week-to-week. A single laptop used for casework, virtual hearings, school meetings, and family support sessions typically supports:

• Direct work with children and young people Average: 2–5 individuals per case
• Families involved in those cases Often 2–6 family members per child
• Professionals supporting each case (social workers, teachers, legal teams) 5–10 professionals per case

If the laptop enables even 1–3 cases per week, the annual reach is:
• Children supported: ~50–150
• Family members reached: ~100–300
• Professionals engaged: ~250–600
Total estimated lives touched per year: 400–1,000 individuals

As the only mental health pre-crisis and crisis support café in our area, our charity provides a vital lifeline for people who need somewhere safe to turn when they feel overwhelmed. Every day, we see the difference that immediate, compassionate support can make helping individuals stabilise, feel heard, and take their next steps with confidence. This grant will directly strengthen that impact, allowing us to reach more people, extend our free services, and ensure no one has to face a mental-health crisis alone.
