This donation will be used to support more young people to complete our three-voyage youth development programme of Exploration, Empowerment and Leadership combining outdoor learning with personal and social development.
As young people progress through the programme, voyages become increasingly longer and more challenging but are all built on outdoor learning and skills development, social engagement, reflection and confidence-building, teamwork and leadership development. The young people are nurtured and positively challenged to create lasting memories, to be part of a team and to lead themselves and the team to learn, develop and achieve.
The young people on their personal journey with us develop into strong members of the community, advocates of our work, young leaders, young ambassadors and role models for those just starting out. Through their TSYT experience, many go on to a career in the maritime sector, both on and off the water, including electrical engineering, ocean sailors, or the Royal Navy. Their memories and experiences with TSYT help shape their future lives and decision making.
