Music4Wellbeing

Registered charity number: 1205413
Music4Wellbeing is a Kent-based charity providing 230 free creative health sessions each year – using music, movement, art and storytelling – to improve the physical, cognitive, emotional and social wellbeing of over 600 older adults, carers, and people living with challenges including dementia, Parkinson’s, disabilities, bereavement and loneliness.

What our donation will help fund

The £1,000 donation will directly support the delivery of our free creative health sessions for older adults and carers across Kent. Each week, our trained Therapeutic Arts Practitioners lead inclusive, research-informed sessions combining singing, movement, rhythm, breathwork, art and storytelling – activities proven to boost mood, mobility, confidence and social connection. The funding will contribute to practitioner fees, venue hire, travel and creative materials, enabling us to keep these sessions free and accessible for people living with dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke recovery, COPD, disabilities, bereavement, mental ill-health and chronic loneliness.
For many participants, our groups are their only meaningful social contact each week. Your support will help create warm community spaces where people rediscover joy, build friendships, strengthen physical and cognitive health, and receive respite alongside their carers. Past evaluations have shown 97% of participants report improved wellbeing, while carers experience reduced stress and enhanced family relationships.

Your donation will help us protect a vital lifeline for some of Kent’s most underserved older adults.

We are delighted to receive this generous £1,000 donation from Benefact Group. At Music4Wellbeing, we use music and the creative arts to bring connection, confidence and joy to people who are often excluded from community life due to age, disability, long term health conditions or caring responsibilities. Each year we support over 600 individuals across Kent, helping to reduce loneliness, strengthen resilience and improve wellbeing. This grant will enable us to deliver more inclusive sessions in deprived coastal and rural communities, ensuring that older adults and unpaid carers have access to safe, welcoming spaces where they feel valued and supported. With Benefact Group’s support, we can continue transforming isolation into belonging and create healthier, more compassionate communities.
