West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team

Registered charity number: 1184377
West Cornwall Search and Rescue Team (WCSAR) operates a voluntary search and rescue capability across the far southwest of mainland Britain. The team's unpaid volunteers are available 24/7, 365 days a year to support the emergency services to search for lost, missing and injured people.

What our donation will help fund

As a charity, the service we provide to the people of west Cornwall is only possible as a result of individual, community and corporate generosity. Team members do not receive any payment and all give their time in addition to their other responsibilities to help raise vital funds.

The Pay It Forward donation will enable the team to purchase new lifesaving equipment – to help those in need when an emergency arises. This will include Specialist PPE to keep our volunteers safe during incidents - helmets, waterproof jackets and water kit.

West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team responds to 30–40 incidents each year, ranging from short medical evacuations in remote areas to complex, multi-day search operations. As a charity funded entirely by donations, we rely on the dedication of our 40 highly-trained volunteers and our specialised vehicles and equipment to save lives. The Pay It Forward donation will make a real difference—enabling us to invest in vital new life-saving kit that helps us reach and assist those in urgent need.
