What our donation will help fund

The generous donation from Benefact Group will fund two key components of our work. Fifty percent will be allocated to our capital project, the re-development of the Cathedral School, and fifty percent will support the delivery costs of our CircAbility project for children and young people with disabilities.

The Cathedral School Project involves transforming a beautiful heritage building in the heart of Derry City into a vibrant Circus School and Performance Venue. This new creative space will provide a home for our current members and future generations - a place where people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities can come together, express themselves, and find their community.

Our CircAbility Project harnesses the creativity and playfulness of circus games and activities to engage children and young people with disabilities and neurodiverse conditions. Through circus skills, participants discover new ways to express themselves, build confidence, and celebrate progress. We encourage them to embrace the learning process, including the art of failing, and to use those experiences as stepping stones toward achieving great things.

We are absolutely delighted to have received this generous donation from the Benefact Group, which will make a real difference across two key areas of our work. The first is the redevelopment of the Cathedral School — a stunning heritage building in the heart of Derry City, into a vibrant Circus School and performance venue. The second is our CircAbility project, which works with children and young people with disabilities. This programme was recently at risk of a pause due to funding challenges, so this support has come at exactly the right time. In an incredibly difficult funding climate, this contribution means the world to us and will help ensure that creativity, inclusion, and community remain at the heart of everything we do.
