What our donation will help fund

This will be used for the purchase of small branded trolley tokens and other marketing products to ensure that everyone knows who we are, and what we are doing in the local community!

✅ Defibrillator Coverage & Access

Number of defibrillators installed in the community. Number of existing defibrillators brought “back online” (pads, batteries, cabinets maintained, re-registered on The Circuit). Percentage increase in 24/7 accessible defibrillators (outside installations).

✅ Training & Familiarisation

Number of people trained in CPR and defibrillator use. Number of familiarisation sessions delivered in schools, workplaces, sports clubs, and community groups. Age range and diversity of participants (showing inclusivity and reach).

✅ Guardianship & Community Engagement

Number of Heart Heroes and community volunteers actively checking and maintaining defibrillators. Number of schools, clubs, or businesses engaged in becoming defibrillator guardians. Growth of partnerships (e.g. with Oldham Council, local businesses, NWAS).

✅ Lives at Risk / Lives Saved

Number of times a DSL-supported defibrillator has been deployed in a cardiac arrest. Case studies or stories where access to a defibrillator (that DSL installed/maintains) has given someone a chance of survival. Proximity stats (e.g. “X% of Oldham residents now live within 500m of a registered defibrillator”).

✅ Public Awareness & Confidence

Increase in awareness measured by engagement at events, school sessions, or online campaigns. Feedback from training participants about confidence to step in during an emergency. Testimonials from guardians, schools, or families.

At Defibrillators Save Lives, our mission is simple but vital – to ensure more people in our communities have access to lifesaving equipment and the knowledge to use it. Every defibrillator we install and every training session we deliver increases the chances of survival when someone suffers a cardiac arrest. This grant will directly support our work, helping us place more defibrillators in accessible locations, keep existing ones maintained, and expand training so that more people feel confident to step in and save a life. The impact is real – lives are being saved in Oldham and beyond, and this funding will allow us to do even more.
