Luton Choral Society

Registered charity number: 290450
The vision of Luton Choral Society is to inspire and enrich the lives of our diverse community and our members through sustainable performances of quality choral music including the commissioning of new choral works.

What our donation will help fund

Your donation will fund professional musicians in the small orchestra for our autumn concert in December 2025 for the wonderful Mozart Requiem.

Being able to have an orchestra for the concert hugely enhances the joy and health benefits of our audience and choir, so it makes all the difference to what will be an amazing concert.

Luton Choral Society has been providing uplifting quality choral music to the town and area for over 150 years. In addition, each Christmas we support the local community through running a charity fund-raising concert and also singing carols at a number of Care Homes. We also run a community 'Singing Day' each year where anybody can take part. Like nearly every choir, we struggle for funds - both in general and especially for holding concerts which require the use of some professional musicians. This financial struggle has particularly been the case post-Covid, as both our choir and audience numbers have still not recovered from that. This grant will be invaluable to us in contributing towards paying for the venues and professional musician support that we need as we continue to deliver music to our town and area.
