Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue

Registered charity number: 1174597
Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue is a science-led wildlife hospital that specialises in the rescue, rehabilitation and release back into the wild of native European hedgehogs within Cornwall and parts of west Devon and Plymouth.

What our donation will help fund

Our charity admits more than 1,400 hedgehogs every year. On average it costs £48 to treat each admission, taking account of veterinary fees and medicines, feed, cleaning, utilities, staff and volunteer time. We rely solely on public and charitable donations and corporate giving.

The Movement for Good donation will enable us to treat and rehabilitate up to 45 hoglets and juvenile hedgehogs ready for their return to the wild.

Britain's native hedgehogs are vulnerable to extinction. Our charity aims not only to rescue and rehabilitate individual hedgehogs ready for their return to the wild, but to raise awareness of the species' plight and to give advice to professionals and the wider public in ways to help our prickly friends. Funding from the Movement for Good enables us to respond to the needs of sick and injured hedgehogs and to help protect Cornwall's population of this iconic species.
