Weston Hospicecare Limited

Registered charity number: 900328
Weston Hospicecare works across North Somerset and surrounding areas to provide palliative patients and their families with the specialist palliative care and bereavement support they need, high-quality and always free of charge.

What our donation will help fund

The donation will be used to fund the core costs of our organisation. From clinical salaries to travel or IT support, these may not sound exciting, but they are essential to our ability to deliver our vital services.

These services include our 10-bed In-Patient Unit, which provides 24/7 specialist palliative care; a team of Hospice Community Nurse Specialists, delivering care in patients’ homes; our newly refurbished Day Services and Wellbeing Centre; and our Family Support Team, including our Children and Young Persons Bereavement Service.

£2,000 could fund around 100 hours of care from one of our IPU nurses, over two months of travel for our entire community nursing team, or around a week of IT support for all clinical departments – providing us with the essentials we need to keep caring for our community.

At Weston Hospicecare, we are proud to provide compassionate and patient-centred care to our community, and the support of the Benefact Group will ensure that we can continue to deliver our vital services. Whether it’s a stay on our In-Patient Unit, a visit from one of our community nurses, or a conversation with our Family Support Team, our work ensures that patients and their families have access to the support they need to navigate life after a palliative diagnosis.
