Headway Plymouth

Registered charity number: 1150786
Headway Plymouth’s mission is to enable those with an acquired brain injury (and their families and carers) in Plymouth and surrounding areas to live independent lives. We do this by offering a range of support services from our social and activity hub - including therapies, ABI education and peer support. We also offer signposting, hospital liaison support and 1:1 outreach and community enablement.

What our donation will help fund

We created a new monthly peer support group for families and carers of those living with acquired brain injury which will offer professionally led ABI education and awareness - and a space to share their experiences and learn from others with previous lived experience.

Our support group will be accessible by upwards of 1000 families affected by new acquired brain injuries every year in and around Plymouth

This incredible award from the Benefact Group has helped us to create Plymouth's first peer group for the families and carers of those living with an acquired brain injury. It will enable us to provide a space for education, awareness, conversation and sharing experiences for those who often struggle to cope the most when confronted with new life with a loved one with an ABI.
