The £1,000 donation from the Movement for Good Awards was used to support CLEFT’s international cleft care programmes in low-resource countries. CLEFT funds local teams to provide comprehensive cleft care, including surgeries, speech therapy, orthodontics, and nutritional support, for children born with cleft lip and/or palate who would otherwise not have access to treatment.
This funding contributed towards essential costs such as surgical equipment, training for local cleft professionals, and ongoing multidisciplinary care.
By supporting sustainable, local solutions rather than fly-in missions, donations like this help ensure children can access the care they need within their own healthcare systems, improving long-term outcomes for appearance, speech, feeding, and psychosocial wellbeing.
