Babies, nursery and primary aged children require funding for food and nutrition, health-care, safety and a start in education. Funds will allow us to ensure pregnant mothers, babies and young children get the right nutrition and care to establish good health for strong growth enabling them to to attend nursery and primary school and stay healthy. It is the difference between life and death or abject poverty. The funds will buy the food and medical and educational resources they require for the best start in life. Infant vaccinations, nutrition with eggs, protein, fresh foods, minerals and vitamins will ensure disease is kept at bay and allow them to benefit from care and education with a hope-filled life.
Quicken Trust is a charity working to transform the lives of people living in poverty in the Ugandan village of Kabubbu. We work alongside our partners in the Kabubbu Development Project; local leaders from rural Uganda, with the cultural knowledge and expertise needed to make the vision of a vibrant, healthy, and self-sustaining community a reality. Quicken Trust partners with them in realising this vision for their community, and the surrounding region.
We provide hope for a better future, where before there was none, through education, healthcare, employment opportunities, welfare provision, and income generation training. This holistic approach is the most effective way for communities to lift themselves out of poverty in the long term. As an example, the Kabubbu Healthcare Centre has eliminated the transmission of the HIV virus from mother to baby, giving them a healthier future where they can then access more opportunities to thrive.
Once in the grip of poverty, disease and despair, Kabubbu now has a future of hope, although there is still much to do. The Movement For Good grant will allow us to ensure pregnant mothers, babies and young children get the right nutrition and care to establish good health for strong growth, enabling them to to attend nursery and primary school, and stay healthy throughout their education.
