Sturge Weber UK

Registered charity number: 1016688
We are dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Sturge Webber Syndrome. through providing strength and support, promoting awareness both publicly and professionally, promoting medical research, creating a supportive community and creating a collaborative approach in the level of care individuals received throughout their life.

What our donation will help fund

Each year we need to raise over £50,000 to keep providing our much needed services, including providing emotional, practical and financial support for our families., raising awareness and understanding amongst the medical and education professionals.

We support our members by giving grants to support the needs of a person diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome. Examples of how our grants have been used are to buy seizure monitors providing reassurance for caregivers and independence for our members and also hydrotherapy sessions.

We run a Family Conference weekend yearly, educating and empowering our members and caregivers with essential information. The social and emotional impact this weekend has on our members is fantastic and the effect of these weekends is that we have a strong community of members who no longer feel alone.

At Sturge Weber UK, we are dedicated to promoting research and sharing knowledge to empower individuals diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome and their families and caregivers. Giving strength to create a supportive, inclusive and caring community whilst raising both public and professional awareness. Our work has a tangible impact, by helping our members to improve lives through our Make a Difference Grant scheme and helps approximately 140 members on an annual basis who attend our Family Weekend Conference. This grant will be transformational, allowing us to support our members and ensure we continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of our members. We are incredibly grateful for this support, which brings us closer to achieving our mission.
