Now in its 30th anniversary year, WORLDwrite is a bold and pioneering education charity that enables young adults to upskill, think big, and strive for the best for everyone. Run entirely by passionate volunteers, its vibrant Citizen TV station, WORLDbytes, operates from the charity’s buzzing volunteer hub in Hackney, East London. Offering free, hands-on training in film and video production, WORLDwrite equips young people with the tools to master storytelling, amplify bold ideas, and create powerful documentaries that challenge the status quo. Fearless in tackling vital issues such as international development, freedom, and democracy, WORLDwrite sparks fresh perspectives and inspires a global outlook. With an unwavering belief in opportunity for all, WORLDwrite nurtures a new generation to question, learn, and make their mark with creativity, confidence, and flair.
With this fantastic £1,000 donation WORLDwrite can work wonders. It will keep its Volunteer Centre alive and thriving, providing a lifeline for over 300 young adults eager to break into film and TV. Every penny will go toward providing access to broadcast-quality equipment and expert tuition by professional volunteers that would otherwise remain far out of reach for most. The funding will help cover essentials, maintaining high-spec cameras, lighting, and editing software, ensuring young volunteers have the professional tools they need to create and innovate.
It will also contribute to hard to fund utility bills, keeping the charity’s centre a warm and welcoming space where creativity flourishes. Moreover, this support will sustain the charity’s ability to offer film and TV training entirely free of charge—making an extraordinary level of training accessible to young people from all walks of life. With just £1,000, WORLDwrite can transform limited resources into extraordinary opportunities, enabling the next generation to hone their skills, share bold ideas, and unlock futures in the media industry.
Our work at WORLDwrite transforms lives. We provide young people with the skills, confidence, and access to professional film and TV equipment they would never otherwise afford, enabling them to produce powerful films and voice ideas that challenge the world. This grant will be a game-changer, helping us keep our Volunteer Centre afloat and ensuring over 300 young adults can access free training, creative opportunities, and the tools to shape their future. Every penny we receive helps us turn ambition into achievement and creativity into impact.
