Earthtime’s core social purpose is to improve lives and outcomes for families and children in Moray through spending time outside in nature – exploring, protecting, enhancing and enjoying the natural environment.
Earthtime provides:
Forest Schools programmes in schools with groups and on a 1:1 basis for children with additional support needs
Parent and child activity groups in public parks (Waddle Toddle and Nature Play)
Walks for pregnant women (Pregnancy Pathways)
Events run by Earthtime (for example our Elf and Fairy Fair) Training (training courses run by Earthtime)
An outdoor nursery with funded places, out of school care and holiday clubs
We will be using the donation for our new Earthtime Community Hub. When we received news of the donation, we were just launching a project to improve our community space. Our space will be a family friendly location which has resources for families to access information about the local area. It will also create opportunities for new relationships between Earthtime and other community groups, and more projects and events. The donation will help us fund events at the Earthtime Community Hub to raise awareness of our space, resources and services.
Fifteen years ago, Earthtime began its work with pop up events for families in local parks. Since then, our charity has grown to become a recognised Forest School provider and an early years setting with an outdoor nursery school and out of school care provision. Earthtime has continued its work in the community throughout the years and our outdoor provision of pop up events for children and families which are free or low cost are a great support to many. Going into a room for a parent and child group can be really challenging for some so we offer an alternative. Some families are less comfortable being in the outdoors and we can help them to build up confidence. Our new Community Hub will be a key location for engaging with more families and signposting families to nature based activities in the outdoors.
