Greenwich Wildlife Network

Registered charity number: 1197507
Greenwich Wildlife Network is a volunteer-run charity dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of injured, orphaned and unwell wildlife, along with a small number of abandoned or unwanted domestic animals. We also seek to educate our community about all issues related to animal welfare and the natural world.

What our donation will help fund

This donation could not have come at a more pivotal time. Over the past year, the number of rescues carried out by Greenwich Wildlife Network has doubled, placing immense pressure on our resources. To meet this growing demand, we’ve made the critical decision to expand by renting larger premises and constructing new release aviaries. While these steps are essential for the welfare of the animals we rescue, they come with significant upfront costs and financial risks for our small charity.

The £1,000 donation takes us one step closer to raising the £10,000 needed to cover these costs, including the deposit and initial rent. It helps ensure that we can continue providing a safe haven for wildlife in need and give them the best chance of recovery and release. Your support directly enables us to build a stronger future for local wildlife and tackle the challenges of increasing admissions. Thank you for making a real difference to our mission.

We are thrilled to be the very lucky recipient of a donation from Movement for Good - it feels like fate that it arrived at such a crucial moment in the charity's development. Greenwich Wildlife Network is at a crossroads as we work to expand our capacity to meet the soaring demand for rescues, with admissions doubling over the past year. This generous grant brings us closer to securing larger premises and building vital release aviaries. These steps are essential for ensuring the animals we rescue receive the best possible care and have the chance to return to the wild. We are incredibly grateful for this support, which will have a lasting impact on the lives of countless animals and on the future of our charity. From the bottom of my heart and behalf of the GWN Team - thank you!
