Leon’s legacy

Registered charity number: 1185659
In 2019, my dad (Leon Smith) suffered a fatal out of hospital cardiac arrest at the school where he worked. As a family, we started to fundraise for a defibrillator for his school, so that if they ever had need for one it would be there. However, we raised more money that we expected to and decided to continue putting them in schools. We have placed 53 defibrillators in schools so far and 20 in the community. We have also trained almost 3000 people in CPR and placed 11 of our defibrillators in 24/7 accessible cabinets. We hope to place all of our defibrillators in lockable cabinets in the future so that they are accessible at all times.

What our donation will help fund

We will be using the donation to buy two more 24/7 accessible cabinets for our defibrillators (and have them installed), so that they are accessible at all times to the community in the hope to save more lives.

We hope to make defibrillators available and accessible to everyone and ensure that everyone knows how to use one and perform CPR.
