Hope UK

Registered charity number: 1044475
Hope UK is a national drug education charity that equips young people under 25 to make drug-free choices. We build young people's resilience by giving them the life skills that they need to enable them to make independent decisions and equip them to navigate their way, especially in risky situations.

What our donation will help fund

Thanks to a grant from the Benefact Group, we will deliver impactful drug education workshops to Year Six pupils nationwide. These sessions equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed, independent choices, changing attitudes and reducing risky behaviours associated with drug use. These can also indirectly impact or influence the primary carers of these children.
Recently, an 11-year-old pupil shared an inspiring story with us: her older brother had attended one of our workshops and later shared what he had learned with their father. This conversation motivated their father to quit smoking. As a result, both she and her brother have resolved never to smoke, having gained a clear understanding of the risks involved.

The grant from the Benefact Group will enable Hope UK to work with many children in year 6 (age 10 and 11), equipping them to make drug-free choices. We will be able to help them develop both knowledge and skills and prepare them for the challenges they may face at secondary school. One child attending one of our workshops said, ‘It taught us the dangers of drugs and why we should never use them. It was good to see the effects drugs can have on us and how bad they can be for our bodies'. We are very grateful to the Benefact Group for their support.
