Our mission is to confront the serious issue of loneliness and social isolation, to promote friendship and improve the health, wellbeing, and independence of older residents in Wokingham.
This grant will be a big help towards our Community Kitchen project which brings together Link Friends and volunteers of all ages to prepare, cook and eat delicious food together on a Sunday afternoon once a month.

What our donation will help fund
Sundays can often feel pretty lonely. That’s why we created the Community Kitchen! It’s an excuse to gather our Link Friends of all ages to prepare, cook and eat delicious food together on a Sunday afternoon once a month, plus we can help with transport. As this is one of our most popular additional projects we have recently moved to larger premises and each month we are joined by 45 Link Friends plus 15 volunteer befrienders. This funding will cover the food, venue and activity costs for two Community Kitchen events.
