We’re thrilled to have received a Movement for Good Award for Alzheimer’s Society Companionship Programme service. Too many people are facing dementia alone and without the vital support they need. Thanks to this award and the funding provided, more people affected by dementia will feel they have somewhere to turn, someone to talk to and feel listened to, at times when they need it the most.

What our donation will help fund
Our Companionship programme is run by trained volunteers, who can give you emotional support and connect you with other help. At the heart of the service are Companionship calls where you’ll be paired with one of our friendly volunteers for weekly phone conversations over a 12 month period. These calls can give you a safe and relaxed space to share whatever’s on your mind, and feel heard by someone who understands what you’re going through.
If you’re feeling isolated or need someone to talk to, you can sign up at: alzheimers.org.uk/get-support/companionship. Or call the Dementia Support Line on 0330 150 3456.
