With no funding sources other than charitable donations, GWAAC relies solely on the support of their local communities to keep them flying. They attend an average of over five patients a day, with each mission costing an average of £1,750. From roadside blood transfusions, to treating cardiac arrests and putting someone under a general anaesthetic, they give the patient the highest possible chance of survival before transporting them to hospital. The £1,000 donation from Ecclesiastical will go towards the cost of a mission, making sure they can provide the highest level of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical care to the patient at the scene, where they need it the most.
