The award will enable the band to continue to invest in new equipment and uniforms for young members within. Accordions are extremely expensive instruments to purchase and maintain, and the charity relies entirely on fundraising initiatives, personal donations and occasional grant aid.
The band plan to purchase new concert uniforms later this year, so this award will specifically be used to help equip young people who are students as well as those from low-income families. This award will not only have a direct impact on the playing members of their band – it will also have a much wider impact on members’ families, local supporters and the 1000s of people who enjoy the sights and sounds the band creates at numerous performances throughout the year.
