Fegans
What our donation will help fund
Fegans realises the great need for therapeutic care for young people as mental health issues continue to increase among young people in the UK today:
1 in 8 children have a diagnosable mental health disorder (roughly 4 children in every classroom)*
Half of all mental health problems manifest by the age of 14, with 75% by age 24*
GP referrals for children’s mental health services are rising – up 18% between 2017-18 and 2018-19
A recent poll of GPs found that 54% of patients aged 11-18 years old referred to CAMHS services are rejected – despite doctors referring 'only the most at risk' patients. Of those accepted, 28% wait up to 12 months for treatment, while a further 27% wait three to six months.
Fegans strongly believes that early intervention is crucial to raising self-esteem, aspiration and attainment. Ecclesiastical’s £1,000 donation will help them to continue their work in ensuring that every child is free to be all they were created to be.
